Candid is launching its pilot in collecting fiscally sponsored project data on its platform. Data collection for funders, due diligence and other areas of compliance is a perennial capacity challenge for our sector and needs to be met with clear and meaningful return value to warrant the effort. Candid’s core proposition is “data for data”: when fiscally sponsored projects share their data they gain access to other field data through resources like Foundation Directory. We are interested in what we can do to build on and enhance this value proposition for sponsors and projects. Setting aside cases where projects don’t want to share data for strategic reasons, what other resources, such as those of TechSoup, could be brought to bear or value offered to inspire wider adoption of data sharing via Candid? How are funders and donors using Candid data in their funding? Join us for a conversation with Candid and TechSoup about the true value of data sharing and visibility.
