What makes a Member?

  • Intentionality – You have made or are considering a commitment to fiscal sponsorship and commoning as an approach to resource sharing, or you’re an ally of the field.

  • Equity – You center inclusion and social justice in your work and endeavor to foster empathy, listening, generosity, and relentless curiosity about the plurality of our world.

  • Mutuality – You advocate for reciprocity, shared authority, and stewardship, and value working together as an intentional community of practice.

What Membership is right for me?

  • COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP for individuals is FREE and easy. It takes about 5 minutes to sign up. We welcome anyone interested in the nonprofit sector, fiscal sponsorship, commoning, resource sharing, social justice, equity, and other topics central to our work. You are able to participate in our regular Member conversations. There are no eligibility constraints for Community Membership, other than sharing our curiosity and values.

  • EXPLORER MEMBERSHIP for start-up or “occasional” fiscal sponsor organizations carries a contribution of $375/month (see below benefits table) and provides access to lighter supports from our commons for individuals, teams, or small organizations considering whether to offer fiscal sponsorship. This Membership is also great for established nonprofits who offer only occasional fiscal sponsorship to a limited number of projects. 

To be eligibility for this level of Membership, one or more of the following statements:

    • You are in start-up mode and do not have a nonprofit organization.

    • You are a 501(c)(3) (exempt or pending) operating below $250,000 in budget.

    • You are an “occasional” fiscal sponsor. You do not advertise your fiscal sponsorship work and sponsored activity is less than 10% of your budget.

  • COMMONS MEMBERSHIP for established fiscal sponsor organizations carries a contribution of $1,000/month (see below benefits table) and access more substantial resources from our commons. Membership entails a minimum amount of flexible support time and access to our tool library and other supports. You may enhance your Commons Membership through adding more our team’s time and tapping into other resources, such as our cloud-based accounting system through Sage Intacct. 

To be eligibility for this level of Membership, one or more of the following statements:

    • You are an established 501(c)(3) (exempt or pending) of any size.

    • You view fiscal sponsorship as a significant program or activity of your organization.
