Joins us for deep dive into the perennial “Goldilocks” question: what size is the right size for both sponsors and projects? In recent years, we have seen a tremendous increase in demand for fiscal sponsorship, which has led sponsors to struggle with the dynamics and questions surrounding growth and scale. Similarly, projects confront questions about whether (and if) they can achieve the scale and impact they envision as a sponsee or need to “spin out” to operate on their own.
Contrary to common assumption, considerations are not just financial. They also include impact model, operating culture, human resources and other systems, and environmental factors, to name a few.
We will present a proposed tool and rubric for thinking about growth and scale for both projects and sponsors. (Leaders of both are welcome.) A discussion of “right size” as well as case examples, and strategic considerations for scaling up (or down) will follow.
