Collective Capacity Building - Business Models for Shared Resources

Building on our spring session “right sizing” for fiscal sponsors, this session will take a deeper look at our Portfolio Management in the context of fiscal sponsors as collective capacity builders.

Led by Asta Petkeviciute, this conversation will explore how fiscal sponsors offer greater sustainability, distributed risk, and economies of scale in sustaining backbone resources, as compared to independent nonprofits, as well as opportunities for collective philanthropic investment and subsidy.

Using our Portfolio Management Tool, and our financial research in Southeastern PA and California’s Bay Area, we will examine several fiscal sponsor business model types and how each offers different value propositions to constituent projects and funders alike.
